Worth a hundred thousand rupees and thousands of prizes will be distributed every month for the winners after computerized balloting. Who opts to shop from POS-integrated retail outlets spread all over the country?
They said that the prizes scheme was introduced through the Finance Act 2023. The first balloting will be held on 15 January 2022 at FBR (HQs). Let’s have a short visit to this article to get everything about the FBR prize for shopping for POS-integrated retailers.
Who’s buying in the month of December 2023 from the POS-integrated retailers will be included in the balloting. This prize scheme was introduced through Finance-Act 2023 which was followed by the issuance of rules for the prize scheme on 9th August 2023 by FBR.
The computerized balloting scheme will be held on the 15th of every month, the first one on the 15th of January 2022 at FBR (HQs), Islamabad.
People are encouraged to participate in the balloting to win prizes after buying from POS-integrated retailers. Initially, the denomination of prizes has been set as given below
- 1st prize Rs. 1000000 Detail
- Two prizes of Rs. 500,000 Detail
- Four prizes of Rs. 250,000 Detail
- One thousand prizes of Rs. 50,000 Detail
A total prize amount of Rs. 53 million will be distributed among the 1007 lucky winners, every month. This prize scheme of FBR’s main aims is to maximize transparency and plug revenue leakage through the real-time monitoring of sales. It also ensures the collection of taxes from the customers at the point of sale is deposited in the state exchequer.
This will not only force the retailers to expedite but also encourage the customers to prefer shopping from POS-integrated retail outlets. Through this innovative initiative, FBR is excepting a substantial increase in revenue that will reduce tax evasion and minimize concealment of sales by the retailers.
Customers can participate by the receipt of purchases through the Tax Assan Mobile App of FBR or by sending the invoice number through an SMS on 9966.
